Plot Synopsis

In 1787, third president and author of the Declaration o Independence, Thomas Jefferson, became enamored of a young house slave named Sally Hemings. She looked life his late wife Martha and although is writings espoused equality for all, he selfishly indulged his passion while neglecting the injustice suffered by her people. The illicit liaison produced three children and lasted until his death in 1826.
