Plot Synopsis
Spanning the years 1825 to 1890 this epic saga follows two multigenerational families, one settlers and the other Native American as they experience the clash of cultures and the life and death struggle of building a new land. An adventurous young man from Virginia heads west and eventually marries a Native American woman. The two families experience the historical and cultural events-from the Gold Rush to the building of the Transcontinental Railroad to the forced relocation of the Indians to reservations.
