Plot Synopsis
The Old Testament story of the warrior-poet whom the prophet Samuel makes the second King of Israel after he slays Goliath and battles the Philistines. Although he reunites the Israelites, he pays a steep price for his love of Bathsheba as his son Absalom plots a coup against him.
