Each day of the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter Tour, TV Tango will highlight a few panels and important events with detailed information, insights and observations. Today, we focus on the TV Land session. If you want up-to-the-minute live news about TCA, check out our Twitter feed since we are live-tweeting the event -- well, as often as our internet connection holds out.
Yesterday morning, TV Land kicked off the first day of TCA with the announcement that their 9th annual TV LAND AWARDS will be moving to NY City. To top it off, they plan to have the entire cast of THE COSBY SHOW and FAMILY TIES in attendance as they honor Bill Cosby.
The first panel they presented was for the show RETIRED AT 35, premiering on Wednesday, January 19th at 10:30pm ET. The panel included Chris Case, George Segal, Jessica Walter, Johnathan McClain, Josh McDermitt and Ryan Michelle Bathe.

Chris Case, the Creator and Executive Producer of the show, conceived of the idea after visiting Florida and loving the lifestyle so much that he and his wife wondered what it would be like to retire young and move there.
Chris is hoping the show will be embraced by fans since most networks have walked away from this broad sitcom type of show. He assured us he’s writing with a very contemporary feel that most people will be able to relate to and find comfort in during these difficult times. “The quality of the writing is breathtakingly high” says George Segal who calls it “cutting edge comedy in the guise of an old fashioned sitcom.”
Next up was the hit show HOT IN CLEVELAND, which will premiere its sophomore season on Wednesday, January 19th at 10pm ET. Media darling Betty White was in the building and she proved yet again why everyone loves her. She was quick and witty and yet very gracious, even saying at one point “there’s been an overdose of me lately, and I think I’m gonna go away for a while.”

As for the show, this season will boast such celebrity guest stars as Jimmy Kimmel, Carl Reiner, Peri Gilpin, Jon Lovitz, Isiah Mustafa and more. A few guest stars in particular will take part in an unprecedented cross-over event. For the first time ever ABC Daytime and TV Land will join forces as ALL MY CHILDREN’s Susan Lucci, Michael E. Knight and Darnell Williams guest star on HOT IN CLEVELAND on February 16th and 23rd along with Wendie Malick guest starring on ALL MY CHILDREN on February 24th.

Speaking of Malick, the recently turned 60-year-old actress looks absolutely amazing and attributes her youthful look to laughter. If that’s the truth then that really is the best medicine -- because Wendie looks great!
Fans can get more info about the upcoming season on the Hot In Cleveland Facebook page which is also where they can send Betty White a personal video message wishing her a Happy 89th Birthday on January 17th.
